Intelligence Operatives

Intelligence operatives operate in the shadows, navigating environments where discretion, adaptability, and survival skills are paramount. Operatives often work alone behind enemy lines or in politically sensitive areas. Edged weapons provide a unique and irreplaceable advantage, whether for silent takedowns, close-quarters combat, or last-resort survival, knife training is a skill every intelligence professional should possess.

kinetic-1

Kinetic Operations

For operators working in covert action, direct-action missions, and non-permissive environments, edged weapons provide a stealthy, lethal, and highly adaptable means of neutralizing threats. Whether engaging in silent takedowns, countering weapon grabs, or fighting in confined spaces, a blade can be the difference between life and death. For those involved in kinetic operations, knife training is not optional—it is a critical survival tool.

Diplomatic Security

Diplomatic Security Officers (DSOs) serve as the front line of protection for U.S. embassies, consulates, and diplomatic personnel across the world. While firearms  are central to their role, a gun is not always the best or most practical tool in a close-quarters confrontation. In crowded diplomatic compounds, restricted firearm zones, or situations where stealth and discretion are required, defensive knife tactics provide a crucial survival option.

AMOK Combatives Programs

Tactical Knife

Unlike dance-like methods built on flowy drills, the AMOK Tactical Knife Program is fight-based — rooted in broken rhythm, true intention, and realism. We train as close to the fight as possible, because it goes against the very purpose of training to practice in ways that don’t resemble the actual event.

The AMOK Tactical Knife program is the primary weapons-based course, as it provides the tactical foundation that to other programs build on.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Tactics – attacking, countering, isolations, and unpredictability in real encounters.

  • Dueling – applying tactics under pressure, paying the consequences for mistakes.

  • Sparring – adapting through different configurations and contexts.

  • Practice – activities designed to sharpen functional skill with the blade.

  • Training – physical conditioning to strengthen attributes that support knife survival.

This course strips away the false security of flow drills and replaces them with fight-based training that builds functional skill, pressure-tested tactics, and the ability to adapt under real conditions.

Machete

The machete is a versatile and unforgiving weapon — and mastering it requires both precision and control. This course builds on the foundations established in the AMOK Tactical Knife Program, which is a strongly recommended prerequisite. Core Skills develops the tactical framework and movement patterns that the machete program adapts and expands.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Attacking Tactics – single strikes, combinations, feints, and close-range disarms.

  • Countering Tactics – evasive footwork, parries, holds, takedowns, and blade control.

  • Striking Methods – chopping, slicing, thrusting, reinforced cuts, back-cuts, and cross-strikes.

  • Defensive Skills – parries, circular redirections, hooks, and counterstrike integration.

  • Movement – deep stances, diagonal steps, and controlled transitions under pressure.

  • Advanced Applications – hand hunting, disarms, and targeting vital areas in real time.

This course is taught in a progressive format — beginning with core mechanics and evolving into dynamic drills that prepare you for unpredictable, high-risk encounters.

Tomahawk

The tomahawk is a compact, versatile weapon that combines striking power with grappling potential. This course develops a full spectrum of tomahawk skills, integrating both traditional techniques and modern combat applications. Like the machete program, it builds on the AMOK Tactical Program, which is a strongly recommended prerequisite. Core Skills provides the tactical foundation and movement patterns that the tomahawk program adapts for axe-head striking, hooking, and control.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Weapon Holds – single- and two-handed grips: long, middle, close, over-under, and hand transitions.

  • Guard Positions – open, closed, and high guard for offense and defense.

  • Striking Methods – slashes, thrusts, backside strikes, pommel strikes, hooking attacks, and combined axe-and-knife tactics.

  • Movement Skills – linear, angular, and lateral footwork for controlling range and position.

  • Defensive Tactics – blocks and parries using both the handle and the axe head.

  • Integrated Combinations – block-and-strike, parry-and-strike, and hook-and-strike tactics that flow into counters and finishes.

This course progresses from fundamental grips and mechanics into advanced combinations that maximize the tomahawk’s unique strengths as both a striking and control weapon.
